Prepare your artwork

Send a PDF at the finished size with 0.125 in bleed, no printer marks, high-resolution images, and plain K100 black for small text.

Bleed, trim & safe area

Bleed extends the background beyond the finished edge. Trim is the finished size. The safe area keeps important content away from cutting and finishing. These are three different boundaries.

Check image resolution

Use original high-resolution images at their final printed size. Enlarging a small image makes it soft or pixelated.

Color & black text

Printed color can differ from screens. Use C0 M0 Y0 K100 for small black text and fine line art, and confirm the color setup for your process with the team.

Export a print PDF

Export with the agreed bleed, no printer marks, and book interiors as consecutive single pages in reading order.

Set up a saddle-stitched booklet

Supply interior pages in reading order, one PDF page per printed page. A folded sheet has four page faces, so tell us your total and whether it includes the cover.

Set up a Wire-O book

Supply single pages in reading order, tell us the binding edge, and keep content clear of the punch area.

Set up a perfect-bound book

Interior: single pages in reading order. Cover: one separate spread with back cover, spine and front cover. The spine width comes from the team for your stock and page count.

Count pages & covers

Count every page face, including intentional blanks. Record the number of interior pages separately from the cover, and tell us whether your total includes the cover.

Choose a brochure fold

A letter fold tucks one panel inside; a Z-fold and accordion alternate direction with equal panels. Confirm panel order and template before final artwork.

Paper sizes

Millimeters are the exact reference; inches are rounded. The table describes sizes, not stocked products.

Fractions, decimals & millimeters

One inch equals 25.4 millimeters. 1/8 in = 0.125 in = 3.175 mm.

Understand paper weight

GSM is mass per area; pounds depend on the basis category (text vs. cover); points describe thickness. Confirm the named stock rather than converting.

Resale documentation

Complete the current official California resale certificate (CDTFA-230) and submit it through your account's existing document review. Submission and review are separate steps.
